NPL: Biratnagar sets 136-run target against Janakpur

In the opening match of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) in Kathmandu, Biratnagar Kings set a target of 136 runs against defending champions Janakpur Bolts. The game took place at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Janakpur Bolts won the toss and opted to field first. Batting first, Biratnagar Kings scored 135 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Shubham Ranjane top-scored for Biratnagar with 37 runs off 29 balls, hitting two sixes and two fours. Basir Ahmed contributed 36 runs off 35 balls, including three sixes, while opener Lokesh Bam added 28 runs from 26 balls with one six and two fours. Martin Guptill scored 13 runs and George Munsey added 10. Biratnagar lost two wickets through run-outs.
For Janakpur Bolts, Rupesh Singh and Sangith Kure took two wickets each, while Aditya Mahata claimed one.
Led by captain Anil Sah, Janakpur Bolts will be seeking their first win of the tournament, while Biratnagar, captained by Sandeep Lamichhane, aims for a third consecutive victory.
