NPL: Kathmandu Gorkhas Defeat Chitwan Rhinos by 53 Runs
Kathmandu Gorkhas registered a 53-run victory over Chitwan Rhinos in the first match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
Kathmandu, Mangsir 12 – In the ongoing second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) in Kathmandu, Kathmandu Gorkhas defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 53 runs in today’s first match.
Chasing a target of 143 runs, Chitwan were bowled out for 89 runs in 17.2 overs. Dev Khanal and Ravi Bopara both scored 21 runs each, while Sohel Tanvir contributed 18 runs. Other Chitwan players were unable to reach double figures. For Kathmandu, Rashid Khan took three wickets, while captain Karan KC, Shashab Alam, and Milind Kumar claimed two wickets each.
Earlier, batting first after losing the toss at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur, Kathmandu were bowled out for 142 runs in 19.4 overs. Jon Simpson top-scored with 60 runs, followed by Milind Kumar with 38 runs. Chitwan’s Sohel Tanvir took four wickets, while Kamal Singh Aeri and Ranjit Kumar took two wickets each.
